Impetigo

Impetigo is one of the diseases that attack the skin caused by bacteria, in the form of blisters or patches of open wounds on the surface of the skin, which further creates a yellow or brown crust. Impetigo disease can be transmitted by direct contact between the skin with the skin or with items that are used simultaneously, such as towels, clothes, or tableware that has been contaminated with bacteria.
Symptoms of Impetigo
Impetigo is more common in children than in adults. The high intensity of physical relationships with friends in the school environment or playmates makes it easier for children to become victims of impetigo.

Impetigo is divided into two kinds Based on the symptoms, namely:

  1. Bullous impetigo, characteristic of blistered and fluid-filled skin. The appearance of bullous impetigo is usually also accompanied by fever and swollen lymph nodes.
  2. Nonbulbs impetigo, characterized by the appearance of red spots, such as a wound leaving a yellowish brownish crust. Although not blistered, nonbulbous impetigo has more infectious properties than bullous impetigo.

Symptoms of Impetigo

Early onset of impetigo does not occur immediately after an infected person. Symptoms are commonly seen after 4-10 days of bacterial infection. Nonethous impetigo is more common than bullous impetigo. Efforts to prevent the spread of infection, it is recommended not to touch the area of infected skin.

Bullous impetigo infections often appear in the middle of the body between the waist and the neck or arms and legs. While non-bipolar impetigo infections often occur around the mouth and nose, but can spread to other parts of the body through intermediaries of fingers, towels, or clothes that have been exposed to bacteria.

These are the development of symptoms of bullous impetigo:

  • The skin is blistered and contains 1-2 centimeters of fluid that is sore and makes the skin around it itch.
  • Skin blister, in a short time can spread and then rupture within a few days.
  • Blisters of blistered skin then leave a yellow crust.
  • Once healed, the yellow crust disappears without leaving a trace altogether.

These are the development of symptoms of nonbacterial impetigo:

  • The appearance of red patches resembles painless wounds, but itching.
  • Spots can spread rapidly when touched or carded, then changed to brownish crust.
  • After the crust, which is about 2 centimeters in size, is dry, the remaining is a reddish color.
  • This reddish trace can heal without a trace within a few days or weeks.
